Yoga for all abilities
All classes aim to increase well being through the numerous tools Yoga has to offer. Yoga’s main goal is to make the mind as clear as possible so that we can experience joy more frequently. In order to do that, we work to:
(1) Make the body healthier
(2) Make the breath long and smooth
(3) Reflect on and improve our relationships
(4) Reflect and make changes to our lifestyle
(5) Practice meditation to help focus the mind
PRIVATE YOGA is a one-on-one class and the way Yoga has been taught for thousands of years in India. The student receives individualized Yoga instruction, specifically to the needs and wants of the individual. The student takes home a written practice in order to develop a consistent home-practice. Personal transformation happens most effectively through this class format. Discover the beautiful and self-confident person inside of you!
Unlike what most people think, private Yoga can end up being cheaper than taking group classes: you take them as often as you like...Once a month? Once every 2 months? Once every 2 weeks? It is up to you!
GROUP CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
ENERGY: As the name indicates, you will feel energized and ready to conquer the rest of your day after this class! The class will begin slower paced and will pick up in pace and intensity, stimulating your internal energy. LEVEL 1-2.
BALANCE: Balance classes are a delightful combination of strengthening and challenging the body, while keeping the mind calm, the breath smooth, and the heart smiling :) A positive and healthy way to start your day! LEVEL 1.
VITALITY: This class is dynamic and ideal for the person looking for a physically challenging practice. The class will involve various vinyasas (sequences of poses) and will leave you feeling self-empowered. LEVEL 2.
HARMONY: If you feel your life is too fast-paced and you would like to slow down, this is the class for you. You will move your body, breathe and use visualization to help bring a sense of peace to your life. LEVEL 1.
STRENGTH: An evening class that will focus on channelling all of the energy you have to strengthening the body while using your breath to guide all movements. Poses are hold for longer and breathing long and smoothly is emphasized at all times. LEVEL 1-2.
INTEGRATION: This Hatha yoga class with emphasizes integrating breath with movement. The class focuses on pranayama (breathing), alignment, strength, stability of the physical body as well as the emotional/spiritual body. Yoga philosophy is discussed throughout this class allowing students to identify their biology with their biography. LEVEL 1.
SLOW FLOW: Move the body gracefully while keeping the breath flowing. You will be gently stringing poses one after the other, enhancing physical control, mental concentration and emotional stability. LEVEL 1-2.
CHANT & MEDITATE: 30 minutes of gentle asana to prepare the body for 45 minutes of chanting and meditation. Enhance your focus, confidence, mental clarity and love for life. EVERYONE WELCOME.
YOGA 4 ATHLETES: Designed for physically active people, this class will focus on: improving and maintaining flexibility, increasing muscular strength and stabilization, preventing injuries, enhancing coordination, honing mental focus and expanding awareness of breath and body consciousness. ALL LEVELS.
